Lynchburg, VA (PRWEB) May 19, 2014 -- In “A Flow Chart of Life: How We Create Our Belief Systems” (published by Trafford Publishing), author Rev. Nancy Purcell presents an inspiring collection of essays that expound upon the theories of Unity and building a belief system. The book has been selected for inclusion in the Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.
Purcell’s inspiration came from several sources. Her religious education at Unity School of Religious Studies led her to incorporate her personal Unity thoughts and principles into her discussions of belief systems. The idea of a flow chart came from Charles Frost’s book, “The Possible You.”
Throughout her essays, Purcell explains how belief systems are formed through experiences and stresses the importance of perception of these experiences. One’s opinions of his or her experiences often influence actions, Purcell argues.
“I want people to begin to think for themselves and realize that their opinions about life are not facts and admit that,” says Purcell. “We need to be self-sufficient in all areas of our lives and contribute to the healing of the human condition.”
A recent review from the U.S. Review of Books says, “This is a sweet little book which allows the reader a basic insight into Unity thought. It offers a glimpse of healing through the basic tenants of belief and offers comfort to readers looking for a path of spiritual guidance.”
