Colorado Whitewater Rafting Company Announces River Runners Pale Ale Contest
Buena Vista, CO (PRWEB) June 03, 2014 -- River Runners, a Colorado whitewater rafting company on the Arkansas River, announces it is again partnering with Eddyline Brewing Company for the River Runners Pale Ale Contest, scheduled to run through September 1, 2014.
The River Runners Pale Ale, which is canned at Eddyline Brewing Company in Buena Vista, Colo., will have tokens placed in select six packs distributed in the front range of Colorado, according to Kevin Meadows, co-owner, River Runners.
“There are 10 different tokens representing 10 different rapids on the Arkansas River,” Meadows explained. “Collect all 10 tokens and get a free half-day whitewater rafting trip for 10 people.”
Other prizes include a free draft Pale Ale at the Riverside Bar and Grill at River Runners when you collect two different tokens, and a free River Runners hat or t-shirt when you collect four different tokens, according to Meadows.
The Colorado micro-brew got its name from River Runners, because of friendship and a love for whitewater rafting and kayaking, according to Mic Heynekamp, owner, Eddyline Brewing Company.
“We are good friends with the owners of River Runners, and we love running rivers so it was a natural fit,” Heynekamp explained.
The River Runners Pale Ale, which has been crafted by Eddyline Brewing Company in Buena Vista, Colo. since May 2009, won the International Style Pale Ale Gold Medal at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival in Boulder, Colo., according to Heynekamp.
“The River Runners Pale Ale has a crisp and citrus hop flavor and is six percent alcohol by volume,” Heynekamp said.
All River Runners Pale Ale contest prizes must be redeemed in person at River Runners. Rapid names include: Triple Drop, Number Four, Zoom Flume, Widow Maker, Seidel’s Suckhole, Spike Buck, Three Rocks, Sunshine Falls, Sledgehammer and Wall Slammer.
“The whitewater in Colorado is the best it’s been in years,” Meadows said. “The Arkansas River is offering up some epic whitewater seen only a few times per decade.”
Eddyline Brewery and Tap Room in Buena Vista, Colorado offers a wood-fired menu and is capable of producing more than 5000 barrels of beer per year. The facility is equipped with a four-head automatic canning line capable of producing 32 cans per minute.
