Robert Clifford to Defend Socrates in Mock Trial
CHICAGO, IL (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Senior partner at Clifford Law Offices, Robert A. Clifford, has been invited to speak at the Spring Meeting of the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL). The event will consist of a mock trial titled, “The Trial of Socrates Redux: BYO Hemlock", which will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 in La Quinta, California.
Robert A. Clifford and Dan Webb of Winston & Strawn will defend the Greek philosopher, Socrates, who is known for corrupting the youth and disrespecting the Greek gods. Patrick M. Collins of Perkins Coie LLP and Patrick Fitzgerald of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP will represent Athens. The same sides were drawn in last year's popular retrial of Socrates hosted by the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago where Clifford and Webb saved Socrates from death. The Honorable Terrence K. Lavin of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District, will also participate in this year’s mock trial.
“The trial of Socrates in Chicago was a memorable experience last year,” said Clifford. He adds, “I look forward to teaming up with Dan Webb again to represent Socrates at the American College of Trial Lawyers spring meeting”.
The American College of Trial Lawyers is hosting the trial that will be held on the morning of March 8th at the La Quinta Resort and Club in La Quinta, California. Attendees will be able to get eighty minutes of continuing legal education credit. The event is limited to Fellows, Inductees and a spouse or guest.
