With more than a third of children and adolescents in the United States being obese or overweight according to the Center for Disease Control, it’s clear many parents aren’t encouraging their children to exercise. Rochelle Katzman, a certified yoga instructor, decided to tackle the obesity problem and bring mothers closer to their children in her new book, “Adventures of Mom and Daughter Yoga” (published by Balboa Press).
“Adventures of Mom and Daughter Yoga” follows a mother and a daughter as they journey around the world, where they meet a leprechaun, a prince and a princess and still make it home for Thanksgiving dinner.
Using instructive pictures of a mother and daughter doing yoga rather than traditional illustrations, Katzman hopes her book entertains readers as it provides “girls tools which will help them to stay mentally and physically balanced.”
