Rocket21, (the only professional networking platform designed to safely connect kids and teens with professionals and experts representing industries, professions, passions, and movements that span the globe), today announced a new Dream Big Singing Competition, in collaboration with Bay-Area based West Coast Songwriters Association and Celebrity Vocal and Performance Coach, Steven Memel.
From now through January 31st, youth under age 18 are encouraged to participate in Rocket21’s “Sing in the New Year” competition. To enter, Rocket21 Members must submit a video at Rocket21.com, featuring their performance of a favorite holiday song or a cover of their favorite songs from 2013.
Two Grand Prize Winners in age categories of Youth Under 13 and Teens 13-17 will each win a major prize package including: Two one-on-one performance and voice-coaching Skype sessions with Steven Memel, Beats Studio Headphones, $100 Cash, a one-year Youth Membership in West Coast Songwriters, and more. Two Runners-up will each receive one performance and coaching session with Steven Memel, plus $50 Cash and a one-year Youth Membership in West Coast Songwriters.
“In 2014, West Coast Songwriters will be focusing on bringing more opportunities for music career development and mentoring to youth singer-songwriters all across the country,” noted WCS Executive Director, Ian Crombie. “Our latest collaboration with Rocket21 and Steven Memel is a perfect way to start the New Year with a project aimed squarely at our goal.”
