Momentum Mobile Accelerator, focused on mobile startups, was founded in January 2013 by Mario Tapia, president and chairman of Mobile Monday Silicon Valley, and Ryan Bloomer, who has a background in business development and operational leadership of early-stage companies. The Accelerator’s next program will run from July 9, 2014 through October 5th, 2014, during which time Momentum will invest in and accelerate 10 companies. Each company will receive $20,000 in direct investment with a potential investment of up to $200,000, according to Tapia, who added that Momentum’s 14 previous companies have raised over $18 million in funding to date. Momentum portfolio companies include MapJam, Buzzstarter, Digify, Everypost, Madefire, Orange Chef, WishPlz, Xendo, Fiverun, and PocketMath.
