Representatives From Russell Johns Associates Welcome Visitors to USA Today’s Booth at the International Auctioneers Conference
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) July 18, 2014 -- USA Today was represented at the recent 65th International Auctioneers Conference & Show by Russell Johns Associates (http://russelljohns.com). The popular national newspaper features an Auction Showcase in its Money section on Tuesdays and Fridays. The July 8-12 conference was put on by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).
Tampa-based Russell Johns has been connecting advertisers with top media brands like USA Today for more than 40 years. At the NAA conference, RJA’s Alex Clevenger and Becca Fagnano spoke to and answered questions from attendees about USA Today’s Auction Showcase.
“Some of them were repeat customers. Others we’re introducing the concept to them, as far as what they’re able to do on a national scale,” Clevenger said. “They’re finding out more information about the section, costs, circulation, when it runs, what the section looks like—those sort of things.”
Auction Showcase has appeared in the publication’s Money section since 2008 and is a dedicated spot for the advertisement of various auctions—from secluded property and mega-mansions to exotic cars and other rare collectibles.
In addition to the Auction Showcase, RJA represents USA Today’s:
Camp Today – a special feature section to advertise camps and camp-related products for children.
Careers Today – a print classified job-listing section.
Education Today – a dedicated section spotlighting higher education.
Golf Today – a special section that runs at the same time as popular tournaments that advertises golf equipment, gifts, travel packages, etc.
Marketplace Today – a one-stop classified advertising resource targeting a national audience.
Online Classifieds – an online classified advertising resource for products, services, gifts and opportunities. Also available are company profile pages featuring descriptions and relevant images.
Shop for Gifts Today – a special section advertising gifts for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as well as Last-Minute Holiday Gifts.
USA Today, which is owned by Gannett Co., Inc., was founded by Allen H. “Al” Neuharth and launched on Sept. 15, 1982. The National Auctioneers Association, founded in 1949 and based in Overland Park, KS, represents auctioneers, auction businesses and related companies.
NAA and USA Today partnered to launch the Auction Showcase on March 14, 2008. Among their other collaborative efforts is the National Auctioneers Association/USA Today Marketing Competition. This year there were more than 870 entries. Winners of the 2014 contest were recognized during the NAA/USA Today Marketing Competition Awards conference.
Judging criteria included creativity, effectiveness, clarity and visual appeal. The competition featured 56 categories in seven divisions: Postcards, Brochures and Catalogs, Newspaper/Magazine Print Ads, Public Relations and Marketing, Digital and& Social Media, Photography as well as the prestigious Auction Marketing Campaign of the Year, which went to Scott H. Shuman, CAI, Hall & Hall Auctions, Eaton, CO, for his company’s Hager Farm & Ranches Absolute Auction campaign.
Next year’s International Auctioneers Conference & Show will take place July 14-18 at the Intercontinental Dallas Hotel in Addison, TX. Russell Johns Associates expects to attend.
