SICARIUS MMA today announced the signing of a sponsorship deal with top-ranked MMA competitor Jesse Taylor for the upcoming WSOF 10 inaugural middleweight title fight.
Jesse Taylor has won 4 titles in his career, fought in the UFC, Strikeforce and Dream as well as competed in season 7 of the Ultimate Fighter and is riding a 7 fight win streak. He has headlined or co-headlined every event he’s participated in for the last several years, with notable victories over Kendall Grove, Tom Watson, Chris Camozzi, Murilo Bustamante, and Denis Kang Taylor.
SICARIUS MMA spokesperson Matt DiBattista commented on the fit between Taylor and the SICARIUS brand: “Taylor is a guy with heart. His rise to the top has not been an easy one, in fact it’s been the path less travelled, but he never backed down from a challenge, and he did it his way. At SICARIUS we identify with that.” The company was approached by Taylor’s management team a week before his WSOF10 fight, due to another sponsor failing to come up with the goods.
When approached for comment, Taylor seemed in good spirits with days to go to the big night: ”I'm super pumped that SICARIUS MMA stepped up without any issues. Within less than 24 hours they gave my manager the thumbs up, designed the walkout shirt, and have agreed to everything. In this business that's a rare thing so I'm pumped for their support and this fight is so important for me."
SICARIUS MMA is a premium quality fight brand out of Phoenix, Arizona. The company is heavily involved in the development of amateur MMA and also donates monthly to IAVA from its line of clothing and gear which honours veterans.
DiBattista explains: “We give back to those that fight in the ultimate challenge - the fight for our Freedom. No matter how hard the guys go at it in the cage, nothing compares to the brave men and women who sacrifice for us to have the way of life we do. We do our best to give back where we can.”
Taylor will be fighting David Branch on June 21 at WSOF 10 in Las Vegas at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, airing on NBC Sports Network.
