SIG Global Executive Summit Kicks Off in Amelia Island, Florida
Jacksonville, Fla. (PRWEB) March 15, 2017 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, is pleased to announce the kickoff of the Global Executive Summit with a focus on automation and artificial intelligence.
SIG is showcasing the latest in automation throughout the Summit with keynotes including "Digital Disciplines: How the New IT is Different," led by Joe Weinman, author of Cloudonomics and Digital Disciplines; "The Age of Symbiosis: Thriving in the Digital Ecosystem," led by Avasant; and "RPA in Action: Your Robot Recruits Revealed," led by Symphony Ventures, a leading RPA pure play company. Symphony is working with SIG members Honda North America, Denali – a WNS company, and PeopleTicker to automate a common business process using Blue Prism's RPA software. Over the course of the Summit, the process of identifying, pricing, selecting, hiring and onboarding a contingent worker will be digitized.
“The Symphony session is like no keynote we have ever had,” said Sarah Holliman, Chief Marketing Officer for SIG. “Throughout the course of the Summit, we will check in regularly with the project team to see exactly how a process goes from a business case to a live robot. Our delegates will literally be able to see robotics in action.”
“Automation presents a transformative opportunity for organizations interested in streamlining operations, optimizing resources and ultimately gaining competitive advantage," added David Brain, Symphony Ventures COO. “We're thrilled to have the chance to demonstrate to Summit attendees how this disruptive technology can help real companies deliver best-in-class results and provide a look into the future of work."
“We are taking the Summit to an entirely new level,” said Dawn Tiura, SIG President and CEO. “We recognize that disruptive technologies are revolutionizing the future of work and are therefore, bringing our members thought leadership and real solutions so they can put these technologies to work in their own organizations. Because of the volume of presentations regarding automation, we have even added a Summit track for the many sessions in this area.”
In addition to the Summit sessions focused on automation, SIG is using two Beams by Suitable Technologies so that SIG colleagues not in attendance are able to collaborate and be present at the event. The Summit also has a 3D printer onsite to showcase how this seemingly-unconnected functionality might also revolutionize certain procurement processes.
