Sourcing Industry Group (SIG) Announces Launch of SIG University
Jacksonville, Fl. (PRWEB) December 04, 2015 -- SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, today announces the launch of SIG University, a comprehensive, online certification curriculum focused on strategic sourcing and governance practices and methodologies.
SIG University (SIG U) was created at the request of SIG members, who saw an educational training gap in today's workforce. The online SIG U learning model is delivered by an experienced practitioner faculty who currently hold executive leadership positions in the sourcing space, allowing them to guide students to a better learning outcome. Four levels of certification for professionals and executives are offered in two colleges including a College of Sourcing and a College of Governance. Each certification takes place over a 10-week period in a virtual classroom where students learn from course material and practitioner faculty. Each certification level is delivered in a modular format with lessons, assessments, quizzes and a final proctored exam. The certification is valid for five years and enhances experiential learning with best-practice training. In addition, SIG U students have access to one of the largest banks of available sourcing data in the U.S. through the SIG Sourcing Resource Center (SRC), which houses over 4,000 tools, templates, methodologies, processes, whitepapers and archived presentations.
