SIG and NEA to launch survey that gathers information on the way buy-side and sell-side executives view the Latin American region as an outsourcing destination.

We hope to increase awareness of the many benefits of seeking Latin American countries as a legitimate and excellent destination for outsourcing and offshoring.

SIG, the premier membership organization for sourcing, procurement and outsourcing executives, is partnering with Nearshore Executive Alliance (NEA) to better understand how executives from both buy-side and sell-side companies in North America view the Latin American region as a destination for outsourcing, specifically in the areas of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO).

“For the Latin American region to continue to develop as an outsourcing location, it needs to know how buyers and providers think,” says Mike Barrett, Vice Chairman, NEA. “What are the main drivers for success and what are the biggest issues that buyers face? This survey will help SIG and the NEA understand the customer much better.”

Adds Dawn Tiura, SIG President and CEO, “Our members aren’t just interested in outsourcing and/or offshoring…they are interested in ‘rightshoring’ or picking the right destination for each specific category whether it is on or offshore. Latin America is a nearshore destination, and yet it has often been overlooked because of perceived security risks or lack of innovative, value-add services. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We hope to increase awareness of the many benefits of seeking Latin American countries as a legitimate and excellent destination for outsourcing and offshoring.”

The survey has now officially launched and includes separate questions for buy-side vs. sell-side executives. The survey will be open until May 15, 2015 and the results will be presented on June 18th during Immercio, NEA’s annual conference.
