Indianapolis Area Sports Facility Tackles Safety Concerns Impacting the Game of Football
Fishers, IN (PRWEB) December 12, 2014 -- SPARTA’s dedication to a safer game begins with their top-notch coaches offering one-on-one and group position specific training. Programs include Core 6 for fundamentals; a tackling program, focusing on safer tackling techniques; and Quarterback University (QBU), a dedicated place for quarterbacks to hone their craft.
“Football has been under attack more and more lately with the safety concerns that revolve around concussions. Not only do we offer the safest helmets on the market, but we give our players more practice time and safer tackling techniques,” said SPARTA’s founding partner, Brian Griffitts. “With little time in the season to regularly practice positions, SPARTA’s programs are year-round, allowing players to stay at the top of their game.” The tackling program is run by Coach Luke Dunnuck and focuses on proper tackling form and technique. Just like shooting and dribbling are to basketball and hitting is to baseball tackling fundamentals should be practiced and drilled in and out of season.
Core 6 Athletes program is one of the top programs in the country for year-round training for high school football players and SPARTA is the first and only facility in the state of Indiana currently offering Core 6. Paul Szczesny, Founder of Core 6 Athletes, LLC commented, “We are excited to team up with SPARTA to bring year-round football to the great state of Indiana.”
Core 6’s 7v7 tryouts program allows players to compete in drills to prepare them for competitive work and one-on-ones. The Lineman Competition League brings together the Midwest's top linemen in weekly competitions that are recorded and updated weekly with standings, providing all participants access to the video footage from each session.
On December 21st, SPARTA and Core 6 team up for one of eight Core 6 Showcases presented throughout the country. The Core 6 Showcase brings together top football prospects along with comprehensive media coverage from all of the major media sources for high school football. Competition, not times or measurements, will be featured in all events for each position group.
In addition, SPARTA offers the popular Quarterback University (QBU), led by Levar Johnson, an Indiana native with thirty-four years of coaching experience. “I think what makes QBU unique, is its high energy and competitive atmosphere. We stress fundamentals and technique, but we also encourage competition in our training. The players never know who they will be training with on a given day. If you're a high school quarterback, you may walk in and train with a college or NFL quarterback or be throwing to a college or NFL receiver. It's a great environment to be around,” said Levar Johnson.
SPARTA’s commitment to the safety of the players extends not only to training, but they are a proud distributor for SG helmets, created by Bill Simpson, motor sports safety pioneer. The helmet is light, strong, and absorbs impact, providing better protection than most other helmets.
SPARTA boasts an elite 21,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility for both adults and youth. In addition to football, they offer a variety of other programs and classes and unlike most facilities, they offer a monthly membership fee, allowing members to enjoy unlimited training in all SPARTA classes.
