STX Athlete Kyle Harrison Named to 30-Man Roster for World Lacrosse Championship
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) February 07, 2014 -- Baltimore-based STX, LLC, a global sporting goods leader, today announced that brand spokesman Kyle Harrison has been named to the 30-man roster for the 2014 World Lacrosse Championship; and that STX has signed a multi-year agreement to provide equipment for Team USA.
The U.S. Men’s National Team announced its 30-man roster following a tryout process that started with 98 elite players and spanned seven months. Team USA will compete at the FIL World Championships from July 10-19 in Denver.
Harrison, a 2006 U.S. Men’s National Team member, is one of the most decorated lacrosse players in history. During his collegiate career at Johns Hopkins, Harrison won the 2005 Tewaaraton Award as the nation’s top player as he led the Blue Jays to a perfect 16-0 record and the National Championship. Twice named a first-team All-American, Harrison currently plays in the LXM Pro league and recently launched his third generation K18 STX lacrosse equipment line.
Per an agreement through 2016, Harrison and his fellow U.S. Men’s National Teammates will train and play using best-in-class STX equipment. Team USA field players are currently using custom StallionHD gloves and padding. Shield Pro gloves have been customized by STX for goalies to use.
“We are extremely excited to be the equipment provider for Team USA, undoubtedly on the biggest lacrosse stage in the world this summer,” said Greg Tate, Men’s Marketing Manager at STX. “As STX grows its market share globally and expands into new product lines, we are proud to stay true to our lacrosse roots and help the U.S. Men’s Team defends its world champion title.”
Team USA will reconvene to hold one final training camp July 6-9 in Colorado Springs before the FIL World Championship. The roster will be trimmed down to 25 or 26 (23-man roster plus two or three alternates) just prior to the FIL World Championship, which begins in Denver on July 10.
