Household Gets One Pet Too Many in New Book, ‘Pickles and Jane’
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (PRWEB) January 09, 2015 -- Author Sally C. Knox began writing her poetry to express life events. This poem grew and grew until it became a full rhyming story. “Pickles and Jane” (published by Trafford Singapore) is Knox’s children’s book about a new member of a family and the trouble that ensues.
With two cats in her house, Granny decides she wants a dog. She had dogs in the past and always a cat or two, and she doesn’t remember there ever being any problems. She adopts a dog, but when she brings it home, it’s clear things won’t go as smoothly as planned. Filled with illustrations by Nikki Dzimira, “Pickles and Jane” is designed to entertain young readers.
“Early readers will likely find the rhyming style of the story, the story itself and the delightful illustrations very appealing,” Knox says.
An excerpt from “Pickles and Jane”:
“The car arrived – Joe entered the house
Which had been quiet as a mouse.
Pickles and Jane saw him enter the room
Their eyes wide in terror; their hearts filled with gloom.”
