Margaret further states that her listings are unique, high-end homes that are posted nationally, so it is important to give the a buyer an emotional connection with a listing before they can physically visit. Drone technology was especially useful for one of Margaret’s most recent listings, 2300 Augusta Drive, a spectacular property that combines golf course living with Southern charm on desirable Hiwan Golf Course in Evergreen, Colorado.
Being able to use drones to film properties such as this has given real estate professionals who utilize this evolving technology a leg up on their competition, which was made even easier recently when the Federal Aviation Administration issued more than 1,300 Section 333 waivers for the commercial use of drones that weigh less than 55 pounds. A September 10, 2015, article on thehill.com states that a significant percentage of those waivers went to users in the real estate industry.
