Shofner Vision Center Launches Operation Military June to Promote Awareness and Funds for Local Not-For-Profit Organizations Supporting Military and Their Families
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) May 31, 2014 -- Shofner Vision Center created “Operation Military June” to provide significant funds and public awareness for local not-for-profit organizations that help both active and retired military personnel and their families. “We created Operation Military June in 2013 and decided we should launch it again this year to continue our efforts in building awareness for the organizations who are critical to helping our military and their families,” says Dr. Stewart Shofner. Dr. Shofner also states, “We at Shofner Vision Center hope to gain more funding this year and also public awareness for these not-for-profits serving the military.”
Operation Military June
Shofner Vision Center will promote Operation Military June and gift $200 ($100 per eye) for each LASIK or PRK appointment booked during the month of June (the patient, if deemed a good candidate for LASIK, must subsequently have the procedure). The patient receives the most affordable LASIK price in Middle Tennessee and Shofner Vision makes the donation on behalf of the patient. Although the appointment must be made in June, both the LASIK evaluation and surgery can take place anytime during 2014.
When surgery is performed, Shofner shall issue a check for $200 ($100 per eye) payable to one of the not-for-profits chosen by the patient. Local not-for-profit organizations include: Disabled American Veterans (DAV), EANGTN Auxiliary Soldier Airman Relief Fund, Operation Stand Down Nashville, REBOOT Recovery, and Soldiers & Families Embraced (SAFE). About Shofner Vision Center
Dr. Stewart Shofner's father was a highly decorated Marine General who participated in more combat than any Marine officer in WWII. He also led one of the few successful escapes from a Japanese prisoner of war camp.
