Renowned Eye Surgeon Dr. Stewart Shofner Proudly Received The Patriot Award for Supporting the Air Force Reserve Duties of Lt. Colonel, Kevin Johnson
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Renowned Eye Surgeon Dr. Stewart Shofner of Shofner Vision Center was awarded the Patriot Award for his support for USAF Reservist (and Doctor), Lt. Col. Kevin Johnson. Dr. Johnson says, “I nominated Dr. Shofner for his enthusiastic support of my Military career. The award was presented Friday, November 8, 2013 by Retired Veteran, Carl E. Lambert, CW4, Chairman of the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR). “I was honored to be nominated and proud to receive the Patriot Award,” says Dr. Shofner. “It is our honor and duty to be supportive of veterans, active duty service members and those serving in the National Guard or Reserve.” Dr. Shofner continued, “The young members of the military are impressive and renew our confidence in our country’s future. About the Patriot Award
Anyone serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for the Patriot and other awards. The Patriot Award reflects a company and/or individual’s efforts to support Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families during a deployment, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
About Shofner Vision Center
Dr. Shofner's father was a highly decorated Marine General who participated in more combat than any Marine officer in WWII. He also led the one of the few successful escapes from a Japanese prisoner of war camp. Dr. Kevin Johnson is active in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force F-16 "Top Eye" program, and participated in the Air Force evaluation of PRK/LASIK for Air Force Pilots.
