Solomon Associates Launches 2014 Worldwide Natural Gas Processing Plant and LNG Performance Analysis to Help Operators Improve Performance
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 16, 2014 -- Solomon Associates, the leading performance improvement company for the global energy industry, announced the launch of its Worldwide Natural Gas Processing Plant and LNG Performance Analysis (NGPP Study) for operating year 2014. The study is designed to help plant operators stay competitive with top-performing gas plants in the industry.
The study provides operators an understanding of their plant operations relative to participants and top performers in the industry. The analysis assists companies in comprehending the activities and trends in today’s gas processing industry and provides valuable information on which to base performance improvement efforts.
“Solomon’s most recently completed analysis attracted the participation of 43 plants,” said Don Jones, Project Manager for Solomon’s NGPP Study. “We are expecting this number to grow geographically and numerically in 2014.”
The NGPP Study examines a plant’s operating and maintenance expense, process unit utilization and reliability, energy consumption, and staffing requirements to help determine whether maintenance expenditures are contributing to reliable operations that are on par with the rest of the industry. The study also measures energy efficiency to help determine whether joint-venture partners are operating effectively. Study results can be used to formulate optimization plans to eliminate shortfalls, establish performance targets, and measure progress using Solomon metrics.
The NGPP Study also allows companies to compare their plant’s operations and maintenance costs with other plants on a common basis. Typical industry comparisons do not consider the complexity of operations, leading to unreliable benchmarks. By normalizing performance using Solomon’s EDC™ metric, the NGPP Study provides valid comparisons to other plants with varying facility configurations.
“Solomon has continually expanded study input to capture facilities not considered in the previous studies,” said Jones. “This approach allows a better understanding of total maintenance costs and provides more information on the specific process categories.”
Key study features include:
• Average performance data for various geographical regions
• Average performance data for better-performing plants
• Plant performance rankings versus other study participants
• Competitive gaps for client plants versus better-performing plants
December 1, 2014 is the subscription deadline for this study. To learn more about the 2014 NGPP Study, visit http://www.solomononline.com/benchmarking-performance/natural-gas-processing-plants-bm/.
