Sparkcentral, formerly known as TwitSpark, has secured $4.5 million in funding to fuel market expansion as they enable top brands to offer customer service in real time over social media.
The Series A financing was led by Sigma West and includes repeat investments from The Social+Capital Partnership, Graph Ventures, and existing angel investors such as the co-founder of Playfish, Sebastien de Halleux. This round brings Sparkcentral’s total funding to date to $5.6 million.
“Sigma West made this investment because Sparkcentral represents the next stage of customer service where every successful company will adopt a strategy for the social channel, forever changing the speed and manner in which they deal with their customers," commented Bob Spinner, Managing Director of Sigma West and now board member of Sparkcentral. "The Sparkcentral platform enables companies to respond quickly to the empowered customers while protecting the company’s brand and reputation.”
“Brands choose Sparkcentral because of our exclusive focus on enabling enterprises to provide great customer service,” said Davy Kestens, Founder and CEO of Sparkcentral. “Everything we do follows the belief that the customer is the most important part of any business.”
Sparkcentral has signed on over 30 top brands worldwide, including Delta Air Lines and a variety of retail and professional sports brands, which use Sparkcentral to handle their high-volume customer relations over social media. Delta Air Lines uses Sparkcentral to provide excellent customer service in a high tech way, letting customers decide how to connect and responding within minutes. (see video)
“Sparkcentral gives us a platform that is a seamless blend of social media customer interaction,” said Jerry Fletcher, Digital Support Manager at Delta Air Lines. “We used three tools over three years before we found Sparkcentral and our agents immediately embraced and loved it.”
While there are many all-in-one ‘social tools’ on the market today, the majority of these tools are focused on marketing and none of them do a great job of applying customer service workflows to the social world. Sparkcentral is not a social tool, but rather a customer service platform using the most real-time channel available on the market today. Simply put, Sparkcentral enables companies worldwide to have one-on-one, real-time conversations with all of their many customers.
Sparkcentral is revolutionizing the customer service industry by enabling teams to support and engage with large customer bases in real time over social media. Founded in early 2012 and headquartered in San Francisco, Sparkcentral is backed by leading venture capital firms such as Sigma West, The Social+Capital Partnership and Founders Fund.
