Sri Parent Coach Raises Awareness of Autism Via Special Bracelets
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 21, 2017 -- Sri Parent Coach, in honor of Autism Awareness Month in April, is making and selling bracelets to raise awareness of Autism. “Autism can look different in children; some can be high-functioning but lack social skills, while others can look a lot like a bully,” said Sri Gerschler, founder of Sri Parent Coach and Educational Advocate, LLC, which gives parents the behavioral tools and nonjudgmental support to positively address the day-to-day challenges of parenting. “A lot of children aren’t getting the diagnosis when they need it.”
Gerschler, along with her daughter who helps make the bracelets and came up with the idea, started selling bracelets in order to fund pro-bono work, so that she never has to turn away a customer that can’t afford her services.
One of the many services Gerschler provides in the San Diego region is to visit schools to observe a student and checks a school’s education plan for that student. The goal is to make sure the education plan will help the child grow and not just push them along. She will also hire an aide or a tutor, if this is what the child needs. An aide can help the child make friendships and further their social skills.
“Oftentimes parents just let the schools handle the child, leaving the child without support at home, and sometimes a child is getting support at home but not from the school system,” concluded Gerschler. “My goal is to ensure the child receives support both at home and at school.”
Parents or schools wanting her services or those interested in purchasing bracelets, can reach Gerschler by phone at (760) 274-3555 or email sri.parent.coach(at)gmail(dot)com. Bracelets cost $25. She is also available over Skype or Facetime for anyone anywhere needing coaching.
