Stephen Thomas Leah’s new novel divulges stem cell secrets
OLDHAM, England (PRWEB) March 12, 2015 -- A doctor uncovers a revolutionary treatment for stroke survivors, revealing it to a young man while vacationing on the West Indies island of St. Kitts in the new novel by author Stephen Thomas Leah, “Deception” (published by Trafford Publishing).
Protagonist Matthew Michellin is a stroke survivor who travels to St. Kitts with his Russian girlfriend for what he thinks will be an uneventful vacation – until he meets a complete stranger. This stranger turns out to be a neurologist named Dr. Mark Cooper.
After talking with Dr. Cooper, Michellin and his girlfriend discover Cooper’s secret – he has developed a revolutionary treatment for stroke survivors. However, the medical community worked hard to discredit the newly developed treatment. From that point on, the three characters work together to expose corruption in the medical community.
This new fiction was inspired by Leah’s deeply rooted interest in the field of stem-cell research. As a stroke survivor, himself, Leah felt it was time to write a book that exposed the benefits of using stem cells to treat the effects of debilitating or life-altering medical conditions.
“Today’s society is so much more advanced in technological development and becomes even more so by the day,” Leah says, “yet millions of people worldwide still have to suffer with all sorts of disabilities.”
The story found within “Deception” exemplifies Leah’s frustration with the medical researchers and community of today. He feels that in order to take action, the public needs to be informed of the corruption he says is rampant in today’s medical establishment.
