Still Hope Foundation Presents Celebrity Weekend Extravaganza
Virginia Beach, Va. (PRWEB) September 06, 2013 -- Still Hope Foundation will kick off its annual Hope Celebrity Weekend Extravaganza tonight with a star-studded comedy show at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts. The show will feature an impressive lineup of comedians including: Anthony Anderson of NBC's Law & Order, also known for his role alongside Jim Carrey in the comedy “Me, Myself, and Irene;” Theo Von of Howie Mandel’s TBS show “Deal With It;” George Willborn, co-host of the Doug Banks Radio Show and former co-host of the Michael Baisden Show; and world-renown magician and illusionist Mark Robinson.
“We’re looking forward to an exciting and fun-filled weekend, but at the same time, we’re raising the funds necessary for us to continue providing services and resources for the single mothers in our community,” said Tony Brothers, Co-founder of Still Hope Foundation and Veteran NBA Referee. “We could not host an event of this caliber without the support and generosity of our sponsors, as well as the celebrities and sports figures that so graciously donate their time every year.”
The 2013 Hope Celebrity Weekend Extravaganza, themed “Bringing Vegas to Virginia Beach,” is the foundation’s signature fundraising event designed to support its mission to empower, assist, and enhance the lives of single mothers and their families. The weekend festivities will continue on Saturday, September 7 with a casino night at the Hilton Oceanfront Hotel, followed by a concert – featuring Eddie Levert of the Mighty O’Jays – in the neighboring Neptune Park. The evening will include casino games, wine and food pairings, and a night of dancing to the tunes of the nationally recognized Strictly Bizzness Band. Guests will have an opportunity to mingle with celebrity guests and a host of NBA, NFL, and MLB all-time greats. The Hope Celebrity Golf Classic, scheduled on Sunday, September 7, will top off the weekend.
