The Little House with a lot of Soul, Sugar and Southern Flair
Daphne, AL (PRWEB) May 28, 2015 -- What started as a hobby and cooking for church members, has mushroomed into a two-location restaurant, both of which are working to wear out poverty and are now drop-off locations for Soles4Souls. Drop-off boxes can be found at the original Sugar Kettle Cafe, “the little house with a big Southern taste,” located at 1015 Daphne Avenue, in Daphne, Alabama, as well as their newer establishment at 124 North Hoyle Avenue in Bay Minette.
“This drive is for a wonderful non-profit organization that is dedicated to fighting poverty, by collecting new and used shoes and clothing and distributes them to people in need,” said Michelle Young, owner of the Sugar Kettle Cafe. “Please come by either of our locations and make a donation that can change the life of a needy individual.”
Soles4Souls, whose motto is “Wearing Out Poverty,” is dedicated to fighting the devastating impact of poverty. Soles4Souls receives millions of articles of used shoes and clothing that have been collected by schools, faith-based institutions, civic organizations, corporate partners and individuals, such as Michelle Young and Cheryl Reed, of the Sugar Kettle Cafe.
The Sugar Kettle Cafe has been in business for six years. They offer home cooking with a Southern flair. In addition to their restaurant hours, they offer catering and now serve breakfast.
“Everything we make is from scratch, and we buy local as well,” said Michelle. “I have loved to cook my entire life.”
