Superior Small Lodging Association Rolls Out First Blogger Event to Great Success
Dania Beach, Florida (PRWEB) November 26, 2014 -- Thanks to a matching grant received from VISIT FLORIDA, Tuckaway Shores Resort, a member of the Florida Superior Small Lodging Association, hosted the Association’s first travel blogger event with accolades coming from all involved. This event was the first of many to be held during the coming year at Superior Small Lodging member properties throughout the state of Florida.
These events are aimed at introducing travel and lifestyle bloggers to the many wonderful destinations, attractions, and activities that are available in Florida and to introduce them to the charming small hotels, inns, B&B’s and luxury condos and cottages that make up the Florida Superior Small Lodging Association.
The Tuckaway Shores Bloggers’ Retreat and FAM was co-sponsored by the Space Coast Office of Tourism and was held to introduce travel bloggers and their followers to the unique attractions offered on Florida’s Space Coast and to convert the bloggers, and ultimately their followers, to the differences of vacationing in a small independent property that offers the ambiance, friendliness and service associated with an “authentic” Florida experience in lieu of that found at a hi-rise chain hotel.
Bloggers were treated to a 3 day FAM trip around the county that included visits to Kennedy Space Center, the Brevard County Zoo, Port Canaveral and the wildlife refuge at the Viera Wetlands - and were treated to dinners, a wine tasting by the local East Coast Winery and a talk by Robin Draper from Authentic Florida.
Stefanie Cornwall (Making of a Mom blog), one of the bloggers at the Tuckaway Shores Retreat, summed up the feeling of the attendees: “So what does authentic Florida mean? It means smaller resorts, personalized service, friendly people and an overall amazing experience. I’m planning on a trip to bring my family back next year!!”
Beginning in the spring of 2015 the Florida Superior Small Lodging Association plans to recreate the success of the Tuckaway Shores and Brevard County experience and introduce travel and lifestyle bloggers to destinations and attractions around the state – and to the Superior Small Lodging properties that will enhance their visits to those locations.
