No one in the world covers the Church more extensively and more authoritatively than EWTN.

Just days after the conclusion of Pope Francis’ visit to the United States for the World Meeting of Families, the Church will open the Synod of Bishops on the Family. EWTN will provide extensive daily coverage of the proceedings from October 3-25.

Coverage begins 11:30 a.m. ET, Oct. 3 with a “Prayer Vigil in Preparation for the Synod of Bishops” and continues in multiple languages throughout the month on all platforms – television, radio, print, Internet and social media.

“No one in the world covers the Church more extensively and more authoritatively than EWTN,” said EWTN Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Michael P. Warsaw. “In addition to our television coverage, which has long been available in English, Spanish and German, EWTN recently announced the expansion of the ACI Group, our international news service. Catholics can now get their news of the Synod in English, Spanish, German and Italian from some of the finest Vatican journalists in the world.”

Tune in 1 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for half-hour wrap-ups hosted from Rome by Mary Shovlain, with reporting from Catholic News Agency’s Rome Bureau Chief Alan Holdren, National Catholic Register Correspondent Edward Pentin, and other guest analysts.

In addition, “EWTN News Nightly” will provide updates at 6 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, while Raymond Arroyo will provide penetrating news and analysis every Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on “The World Over”. Also, the October 18 edition of “EWTN Theology Roundtable” will explore and explain the Synod and its deliberations. “The theme of this Synod is the vocation and mission of the family in the Church and the contemporary world,” Warsaw continued. “It is a fitting follow-up to the extraordinary week we just experienced here in the United States with the Holy Father.”
