The Countdown Has Begun: 179 Days Until the 2014 TQL Urban Race
Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) April 08, 2014 -- After last year’s triumphant arrival into the sport of adventure racing, Total Quality Logistics (TQL), the Flying Pig Marathon, and downtown creative agency, Agar, are again teaming up to turn the streets of downtown Cincinnati into an urban obstacle course.

“The TQL Urban Race was one of the most successful first-year races we’ve ever been a part of, in terms of attendance, engagement, and racer feedback. We’re thrilled to be at it again,” said Iris Simpson-Bush, executive director of the Flying Pig Marathon.
Last year’s event drew 1,200 runners, hundreds of volunteers and spectators, and raised more than $22,000 for the race’s charity beneficiaries, the Reds Community Fund and the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. This year, the TQL Urban Race expects to attract 2,000 runners.
“The route this year is shaping up to be right around 4 miles and gives us some great new options for obstacles,” said TQL Urban Race spokesperson, Kristine Glenn.
Some of last year’s obstacles included maneuvering over a traffic jam of junkyard cars, zig-zagging through a maze of Cintas trucks, and climbing a cargo net to the top of a mountain of shipping containers.
The TQL Urban Race will be open to those age 13 years and up and new team discounts will be offered to those who register a group of five or more runners. Registration for the TQL Urban Race begins today at http://www.tqlurbanrace.com. An early bird registration price of only $45 will be offered to the first 200 registrants and includes an official race T-shirt, race medal, and free drink at the post race party.
Agar, in addition to helping with the planning and execution of the race itself, will produce the post-race party in Washington Park. The party will once again include live music, family friendly activities, food and beverages. Agar is the creative force that drives success for other popular Cincinnati events including Ubahn Fest and Lumenocity.
