Lady of the Sea General Hospital Implements T-System’s Best-of-Breed System to Modernize ER
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- T-System Inc. and Lady of the Sea General Hospital today announced a successful emergency department information system (EDIS) go-live with EV™, achieved in 24 weeks.
Lady of the Sea sought to modernize their ED workflow and documentation. They selected T-System’s EDIS for its ability to easily integrate with their enterprise electronic health record (EHR) and meet the workflow needs of physicians and nurses. Immediately following the go-live, Lady of the Sea reported improved order clarity, increased formulary compliance and 100 percent physician adoption of the system.
“After seeing the functionality of our enterprise vendor’s ED module, we believed a specialty system would be required to meet our current and future needs,” said Buffy Lafont, ED director of Lady of the Sea. “The ED is very fast-paced, and time is critical. With T-System, the impact was overwhelmingly positive because it was created for this exact environment.”
Lady of the Sea’s ED medical director was so happy about the go-live that he was hugging everyone in the ER, according to Freda Oberholzer, T-System’s director of implementation services. Oberholzer said she is proud to deliver a solution that can get even the clinical staff to embrace technology.
“T-System’s EDIS implementation was by far the easiest EHR module implementation I’ve witnessed,” said Kendall Griffin, clinical IT director of Lady of the Sea. “Going into the implementation, our physicians and nurses were pumped up for EV™. Some of our nurses immediately became super users and love it.”
EV™ was implemented with the complete set of features, including nurse and physician charting, clinical decision support, CPOE, e-prescribing and analytics. Lady of the Sea plans to leverage the EV™ for their upcoming Meaningful Use attestation.
