Tabtor Announces New National Movement to Personalize Learning – Launches Collaboration Website for Parents, Teachers, and Students
Kendall Park, NJ (PRWEB) January 08, 2014 -- Tabtor (https://www.tabtor.com), a leader in iPad and tablet-based personalized learning platforms, unveils a new website HowLearningWorks.org (http://howlearningworks.org/), at a press conference in the 2014 International CES at Las Vegas.
Tabtor has created a learning platform that allows teachers to provide a highly personalized learning experience for their students. Given the extra-ordinary results in student improvement that Tabtor Math has seen in both its consumer program as well as in schools across the world, it has now launched a movement to explain more about why personalization is still possible in the increasingly technology driven world that we all live in today. In addition to explaining the benefits of providing personalized learning, the website – HowLearningWorks.org – will act as a conduit to encourage dialogue, discussion and sharing of best practices among teachers, parents and students across the globe.
“In everything we learn in life, whether to teach our kids to ride a bike or to play the piano, a parent or teacher is always there to observe and guide the student at the Point of Learning – the moment when the student is on the bike or pressing on the keys of a piano. Unfortunately it has been impossible for teachers to do this simple observation in K-12 education because of sheer numbers,” said Raj Valli, CEO of Tabtor.
U.S. has continued to perform poorly when compared to other OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries since 2003, with only 34% of Grade 4 and 41% of grade 8 students showing proficiency in math. This is despite the adoption of online learning and other technologies in schools and after school supplemental programs and spending a whopping $809.6B per year on education, which is $7,743 per student yearly.
“Something does not add up with the way we are teaching our kids,” continued Raj Valli, “We are very good in teaching surgeons, pilots, and literally every other profession very well – because we think the stakes are high. What we seem to forget is that the stakes are even higher when our students do not learn math properly. The Wall Street Journal estimates that we can increase the paycheck of every person in the U.S. by 20% each year if the performance of U.S. students in math were raised a mere ¾ of a percent to achieve the levels of Canadian students. It will add $77 trillion to our GDP over the next 80 years.”
HowLearningWorks.org is available to the public starting today. We invite participation from all concerned, especially teachers, school administrators, parents, and the media to start a national dialogue of what it will take to make learning more personalized again and use the appropriate tools and technology to drive increase in student performance.
The product demo of our patent pending learning platform will be held at the Venetian booth# 71201 on January 9 2014, 9:45am. Raj Valli, CEO will be speaking at Getting Personal: Curriculum Built for One at the Transforming Edu Conference at Las Vegas Convention Center - Room N256 North hall on January 9 2014, 2:35 pm.
