Frank and Bill Jennings, owners of upscale Byte Bistro, recently announced they have expanded their operation to include a sidewalk bar, slated to open in early January.

“Our sidewalk bar will feature locally distilled rum and bourbon, as well as Colorado Breckenridge Bourbon Whiskey, the third-best bourbon in the country, and the Prichard’s line of fine whiskeys,” said Frank. “We will also have a hand-crafted mixology menu that stands out from the traditional ‘highball’ cocktail menu.”

The Jennings’ sidewalk bar, which will be available for patrons as well as private functions, will be the first in DeLand, and is expected to create a more welcome, open and relaxing environment. The grand opening will showcase the bar as well as offer free specialty drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

Byte is located in the heart of historic downtown DeLand a few blocks from Stetson University, Florida’s oldest private college. In fact, Byte lies on the former site of a longtime bar once popular with Stetson students, and is located across the street from another Jennings brothers’ restaurant, Bill & Frank’s Brickhouse Grill.
