Case Study Outlines How Community and Tech Training Support Aid Texas’ District Initiative
Little Falls, MN (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- Edtech training provider Atomic Learning recently released a case study entitled “Commitment, Communication & Collaboration Vital to iPad 1:1 Success.” The case study tells the story of McAllen, TX ISD’s mobile initiative.
By visiting the McAllen, TX ISD homepage, you know instantly from the imagery that the district is passionate about its huge mobile initiative, called TLC3 – Transforming Learning in the Classroom, Campus, and Community that includes iPads/iPod Touch devices for every student.
Today’s students are engrossed in a world of incredibly thought-provoking, discussion-igniting learning experiences available at the click of a button, and McAllen recognizes this. “It’s inquiry in the classroom, integrating technology, igniting higher-level thinking and prompting students to delve deeper into issues at all levels and in all subjects,” the TLC3 program states.
Through TLC3 , McAllen has already distributed more than 6,000 iPads in 14 of its 32 campuses with plans to provide its 25,000 students and teachers district-wide with mobile devices. McAllen’s subscription to Atomic Learning provides educators with 60,000 step-by-step technology tutorials that propel classroom instruction forward, including project-based training on 21st-century concepts, tech integration projects, tech skills assessments, and workshops on trending tech topics.
“Atomic Learning is a key partner in our dedication to providing our teachers the highest quality technology training resources available and supporting our students with anytime, anywhere learning,” said Carmen Garcia, director of instructional technology at McAllen ISD.
