Terri Ivens pens first in new series of teenage fiction
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. (PRWEB) October 15, 2014 -- Inspired to write a coming-of-age tale that would teach her daughter the right path to take in life, author and television personality Terri Ivens published her new book, “The Buzz: Pointing Fingers” (published by Archway Publishing).
“The Buzz” tells the story of a 14-year-old girl named Kassia Ella, who feels isolated when she starts high school, newly separated from the friends she used to know. Although she is captain of Procter R. Hug High School’s cheerleading squad, she feels she may never fit in or find love. That is, until the day she falls in love at first sight with a boy on the freshman football team named Michael.
When the two finally cross paths and Michael starts to pursue her as a romantic interest, Kassia faces gossip, jealousy and manipulation on the part of her peers as well as her internal struggle with feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt and fear of rejection.
“It is a genuine, thought-provoking story, built on those big events that form our character; those timeless, universal life experiences young teens are faced with to rise above within their own social bubbles,” Ivens says of her book.
Only time will tell if her dream of finding love and fitting in will come to pass in this emotionally charged novel about the teenage experience.
