New Bed & Breakfast Opens in Downtown Fort Lauderdale Beach
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) March 31, 2015 -- An investment of over $500,000 by new Canadian owners Kim Ward and Chris Grossman has allowed for a complete transformation of two 1920’s art deco buildings, once separated by a fence, to one entity now known as The Drift Hotel located in Fort Lauderdale Beach. Every effort was made to honor the original design, including preservation of the custom window detailing and the original art deco concrete stairs, while offering modern comforts such as new windows, floors and doors and as well as upgraded electrical, air conditioning and fixtures. Guests will now be able to enjoy new beds, including mattresses chosen with guest comfort in mind, flat screen televisions and modern refrigerators. The authentic Florida architecture and attention to detail offers a pleasant alternative to the cookie cutter larger hotels.
Fresh Key West style plantation shutters, hardwood floors, white linens with decorator pillows and custom woven blankets complete the “Tommy Bahama” feel and returning guests are awe-struck at the transformation and are especially pleased that the quiet courtyard has been expanded.
Already one of Fort Lauderdale’s top rated Bed & Breakfasts on Trip Advisor, “The Drift” is known for its extra warm service provided by the “Guest Service” team, Regina and Al Schiavo. Breakfast finds the couple, who speak 3 languages, in the courtyard making new friends from around the world or planning the day’s activities with the owners. Their aim is to ensure that guests’ every need is catered to so that guests look at “The Drift” as their home away from home.
The property is a member of the Superior Small Lodging Association.
