Matthew Anderson, Gregory S. Smith and Eric Wightman named to Washingtonian Magazine's list of best wealth advisors in the Washington area

Three professionals at The Wise Investor Group have been named to a list of the top wealth advisors in the Washington area.

Our peers within the industry thought of The Wise Investor Group's advisors when nominating someone whom they would trust with their own financial decisions.

The Wise Investor Group at Robert W. Baird & Co., a team of experienced financial professionals offering financial planning, portfolio management, investment analysis and account services, today announced that Senior Vice President Matthew Anderson, CFP®, CPWA®, CLU®, and Managing Directors Gregory S. Smith, CFP®, ChFC®, CPWA® and Eric Wightman, were recognized by Washingtonian as top wealth experts in 2016.

Washingtonian’s Top Wealth Advisors listing consists of financial professionals in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area who were first nominated by their peers and then voted onto the list.

Senior Vice President and Financial Planner Matthew Anderson is a key member of The Wise Investor Group’s risk management services which includes estate planning, insurance, long term care and annuities. He also works with his clients’ tax and legal advisors to ensure all financial planning advice is working in concert, without gaps or redundancies.

Gregory Smith, a charter member of The Wise Investor Group and founder of the team's financial planning department, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and Chartered Financial Consultant®, focusing on retirement, college and estate planning for his clients. In addition to his role as Managing Director and Senior Financial Planner with The Wise Investor Group, Smith serves as a Financial Planning Mentor to new financial professionals through the Financial Planning Association.

Managing Director and Portfolio Manager Eric Wightman is one of the founding members of The Wise Investor Group. Wightman leads the team’s Investment Decision Committee and is responsible for setting the group’s investment strategy to ensure appropriate portfolio and risk management strategies are applied to all the group’s portfolio decisions.

Smith and Wightman were both recently named to the 2016 list of Barron’s Top 1200 Financial Advisors.
