The Check One, Two campus tour has been created by Boarding For Breast cancer, a pause for prevention educational content as an outreach program in colleges. The Futon Shop has joined B4BC to educate college students surrounding Breast Cancer and has been pitched as the chemical free furniture option. Boarding For Breast Cancer and The Futon Shop has teamed up to join the fight against Breast Cancer and create an open dialogue for prevention all across college campuses Around America.
During the tour, students that participate will get a one-on-one lesson on how to detect such things like lumps in one’s breast, will be coached by health educators, and will be given healthy resource lists and hand outs. B4BC intends to educate and eradicate various Breast Cancer myths by teaching the history behind Breast Cancer and enlighten with new research data. Students will join in fun trivia games and Q&A games to make the subject interesting and hopefully will gain momentum for open and healthy conversations. Through conversation and education, the hope is that students will get the necessary tools to prevent and reach out to the right and healthy resources if and when they are needed.
The outreach program during the tour will promote material handed out showcasing The Futon Shop as a partner of B4BC as the non toxic furniture option with their chemical free mattress, crib mattresses, and natural bed frames. The Futon Shop has worked together prior with B4BC and is extremely motivated and on board with educating the public on organic living.
The Futon Shop is in the process of forming a lasting partnership to become B4BC’s non toxic furniture option. The Futon Shop has manufactured and retailed non toxic furniture since 1976, and is currently increasing their chemical-free home furniture line that presently consists of chemical free mattresses, baby crib mattresses, and bed frames. The organic ingredients are wool, cotton, latex, and springs. There are no petrochemicals, since there is no petrol filled foams in any of the chemical-free mattresses. And there are no chemical-free fire retardants added into their non toxic mattresses, since The Futon Shop chooses wool as a natural fire retardant. The cotton in all the mattresses comes without pesticides as well as USDA approved organic.
