Three NFL Rookies Trained by InFocus/SPARTA
Fishers, IN (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- InFocus Sports Training Solutions, in conjunction with SPARTA, an elite training facility, recently helped prepare three candidates for the NFL Combine and Pro Days in preparation for the 2015 NFL Draft, held April 30–May 2 in Chicago. Subsequently, all three players trained by InFocus/SPARTA finished the NFL draft weekend on their way to a rookie training camp.
Tight end James O’Shaughnessy, out of Illinois State University, was pick No. 173 in the 5th Round drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. Cameron Meredith, a wide receiver, also from Illinois State University, and Rob Crisp, offensive tackle from North Carolina State University, signed as priority free agents with the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals, respectively. O’Shaughnessy and Meredith each earned spots on their respective team's 53-man rosters on Saturday, September 5. Crisp was added to the Cardinals practice squad on Monday, September 7.
“Even though it was their first year, they did everything right,” said O’Shaughnessy. “I had a great experience with the InFocus training program. The whole staff there was extremely accepting and helpful in every aspect of what we needed for the pre-Combine process.”
Each player, according to Brian Griffitts, owner and trainer at SPARTA and InFocus, showed marked improvement in their on-field performance following their InFocus/SPARTA training experience. The three outstanding players were prepared mentally and physically by the InFocus training staff, including Director of Football Operations Levar Johnson.
In addition to combat sports training, yoga and pilates, and much more, SPARTA and InFocus offer turf sports training. InFocus Quarterback Instruction provides individual and small group training for all levels of quarterback. From youth to NFL, InFocus Quarterback Instruction stresses fundamentals and technique to help quarterbacks achieve their goals. Additionally, Football Training Skills at SPARTA equips children with basic fundamentals skills enabling them to play the game with a better sense of enjoyment, awareness, and overall understanding of the game. The program focuses on blocking, tackling, footwork, hand-eye coordination, and football terminology.
For the NFL hopefuls, Griffitts and Johnson assembled a team of position-specific and skill-specific coaches who provided individual skill development training fully integrated with agility, mobility, and stability training focused on peak performance in the exercises/drills required at the Combine.
“The InFocus approach is designed to give each athlete individual attention working in small-group sessions,” said Griffitts. “The program offers skills-based athletic training, performance training, position-specific coaching, and mindset training to fully prepare the player for the Combine and Pro Day experience.”
Johnson, who also serves as an on-field skills coach, added that “our Combine training program is unique in that it is structured to provide individualized coaching focused on measurable improvement during the 6-week period of our camp.”
