Grammy®-Nominated Comedian Tig Notaro and Best-Selling Author Jenny Lawson (aka The Bloggess) to Keynote 10th Anniversary BlogHer Conference this July in San Jose
Belmont, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2014 -- January 14, 2014 – BlogHer, Inc., the premium cross-platform media network and publisher for women, today announced that Jenny Lawson and Tig Notaro will be among the keynote speakers at the 10th Annual BlogHer Conference, which takes place July 24-26, 2014 in San Jose, CA.
The largest event for bloggers and social media influencers in the nation, BlogHer ’14 will host thousands of bloggers who are creative entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and market influencers. Tig Notaro and Jenny Lawson both have grown massive followings by mining life’s most challenging circumstances to create their inimitable brands of humor. Notaro and Lawson will appear to share insights on authenticity, the craft of writing and operating as an independent artist.

Tig Notaro is a comedian and writer who announced her breast cancer diagnosis during a stand-up set, delivering a hilarious and heart-wrenching monologue. Comedian Louis C.K. dubbed the act “one of the best stand up performances he ever saw” and helped Tig to self-publish Tig Notaro LIVE, which has since been nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. The album sold 100,000 copies in the first 6 weeks, which is unheard of for comedy albums these days. After this performance, Tig was given a book deal with Ecco, an imprint of Harper Collins. Tig recently appeared in the Lake Bell feature, In a World, and can next be seen opposite Elizabeth Banks in the feature, Walk of Shame, due out later this year.
Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, has been a blogger since 2006, and is the author of the New York Times #1 best-selling memoir, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. She began attending BlogHer conferences in 2007, and was a speaker at the first BlogHer Community Keynote in 2008, where she also met her book agent. Her second book, Furiously Happy, is scheduled for release in 2014.
