Kate Winslet’s Golden Hat Foundation to Benefit from the Star-Studded Concert, Music of Hope, on November 16, 2013
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 18, 2013 -- Renowned two-time #1 billboard-charting artist Tim Janis brings together some of today’s most sensational artists to celebrate and spread awareness of the intellectual capabilities of those with autism on Saturday, November 16th, at Carnegie Hall. Proceeds from the upcoming Music of Hope concert will benefit Kate Winslet’s rising nonprofit organization, the Golden Hat Foundation.
Forte, the new sensational classical-crossover group from America’s Got Talent, will be featured along with versatile opera-to-pop tenor Nathan Pacheco and YouTube star Nick Pitera, Other special guests include the popular Sleepy Man Banjo Boys, Amy Petty, a 200-voice choir, and The Montclair State University Orchestra, directed by Ken Lam.
With their unique and compelling talent, these phenomenal performers have inspired and attracted enthusiastic listeners worldwide. Musical Director Tim Janis says, “I wanted to bring in some of today’s most popular artists to be ‘the voice,’ for these amazing individuals living with autism.” Together, these gifted artists offer their support to the Golden Hat Foundation for a magical evening of hope.
The Golden Hat Foundation is dedicated to changing the way people with autism are perceived, by shining a light on their abilities and emphasizing their great potential. Kate Winslet and Golden Hat Foundation’s CEO, Margret D. Ericsdottir, met when Kate recorded the English narration for Margret’s HBO documentary, A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism, which captured her journey to find a way for her nonverbal son with autism, Keli, to communicate.
Deeply moved by Margret and her family, Kate remained in close contact. Together, the two decided to create a foundation with the purpose of creating awareness of the intellectual capabilities of people with autism.
