Statistically, more than 60 percent of all Americans will need a form of LTCI. Purchasing the product earlier in life, rather than later, will help keep premiums affordable.

The goal of Long-Term Care Awareness Month is to build awareness for the type of care needed by individuals who have a chronic illness or disability. LTCI is an insurance product that helps provide for the cost of long-term care beyond a predetermined period. It covers care that is typically not covered by health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.

“Statistically, more than 60 percent of all Americans will need a form of LTCI,” said Tim. “Purchasing the product earlier in life, rather than later, will help keep premiums affordable. Adding certain options will also allow the benefit to keep pace with medical inflation.”

Additionally, said Tim, “There are life insurance products such as State Farm’s Flexible Care Benefit Universal Life Insurance that provide an accelerated death benefit for the purpose of long-term care expenses. With this, when you become chronically ill and are eligible to receive benefits, you can access a portion of the policy’s death benefit every month.”

Tim also offers auto and home insurance as well as financial and retirement planning services. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Providers, the Fairhope Rotary Club, and the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, and is Chairman of the Thomas Hospital Foundation. He has also qualified for the Crystal Excellence and Chairman’s Circle awards and earned the National Sales Achievement award.
