Titan LED Retrofits Natural Café Restaurant with Energy Star-Rated Par Bulbs and Titanium USA Made LED Tubes to Achieve 68% Annual Energy Reduction
Moorpark, California (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Titan LED announced today that it has completed a lighting retrofit for California restaurant chain, The Natural Café. The project focused on the kitchen and dining areas of the restaurant located in Moorpark, California, and involved replacing older style, inefficient halogen par bulbs with Titan LED’s all new Energy Star-rated Par Bulbs and 17-Watt Titanium USA Made LED tubes.
As a result of the retrofit, The Natural Café’s annual lighting energy usage is expected to decline by 68% from 18,078 kilowatts to 5840 kwh. This also equates to a reduction of 16,277 (lbs.) in annual CO2, and an annual tree-planting equivalent of 3.13 acres.
“These are important numbers for our energy costs as well as doing our part to make a dent in our carbon footprint,” remarked Kelly Brown, President and CEO of The Natural Café, a chain of 12 Natural Cafés in Southern California. “We pride ourselves in offering the very best in natural ingredients for our menu selections, and we see extending this philosophy to our restaurant lighting a natural step. Having new lighting with no toxic chemicals and that is virtually 96% recyclable fits with what we are all about.”
“We couldn’t be prouder to play a role in helping The Natural Café reduce its lighting costs and their carbon footprint,” commented Brian Hennessy, Titan LED’s President, CEO and founder. “I believe they are setting the standard for other restaurants in Southern California. Kelly and his team are role models for a greener, cleaner and more energy efficient world.”
