Titan LED Helps Wisconsin’s Carthage College Save Nearly 500,000 KW and $15,000 in Electricity Bills per Year, While Dramatically Improving Lighting Quality
Simi Valley, CA (PRWEB) January 21, 2014 -- Titan LED, a leading US-based manufacturer and OEM that serves small, medium and enterprise-level customers across the nation, announced today that it has completed a lighting retrofit for Carthage College, which will save the Kenosha, Wisconsin-based college nearly 500,000 KW and $15,000 in electricity bills per year, while dramatically improving light quality for students, staff and visitors.
The lighting retrofit project involved replacing over 100 of the college’s inefficient 400W fixtures with Titan LED’s USA Made, DLC certified, and maintenance-free 146W Titanium High Bays, and 300W Titanium High Bays at the Tarble Athletic and Recreational Center (TARC).
In total,112 High Bays were installed over the indoor multi-purpose courts to highlight and brighten specific activities. By using the college’s existing layout and electrical connections, installation went smoothly and easily. What’s more, the new lighting casts approximately 1.5 million crisp, brilliant “Day White” lumens that improve everything from aesthetics to safety.
“Activities at the college recreational facility run from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., making this a perfect application,” commented William D. Hoare, Carthage College’s Associate Vice President for Business. “We already see a drop in kilowatt usage and are very pleased with the results thus far.”
Mr. Hoare further added, “In fact, one of our previous metal halides got so hot that it caught fire and dropped to the floor! It’s a good thing we’ll never have to worry about that with the new lighting.”
