Tommy Middaugh of Travel To Go Recaps the 2014 Bud Light Kern River Rock n Blues Fest
San Diego, California (PRWEB) October 06, 2014 -- Tommy Middaugh, Travel To Go Vice President, has long been a supporter and attendee at the Kern River Rock n Blues Fest. This year marked the fourth year of this annual event. Rock and blues lovers from around the country flocked to the small town of Kernville, California, to enjoy the sights, sounds, parties and festivities of this leading music festival.
For the last weekend in September, every hotel room, campsite, and bed and breakfast were filled with music lovers from across the western United States. It is no doubt that blues is a part of Americana and is enjoyed by millions of fans worldwide.
Throughout the festival, attendees enjoyed the sounds of Gino and Jade Matteo, Barry Levensen and Mike Hatchet of the Lubricators, English Revolver with special guest Howlin’ Wolf, KK Martin, The MoFo Party Band, White Boy Jams and the Blues Express featuring Scott Abeyta, the owner of Rip Cat Records and so many more talented recording artists from the Rip Cat Label. Each and every one of these musicians donated their time and talents under the direction of Kay Kay Jagger (Rip Kitty) and Orion Sanders (Notorious Entertainment) to accomplish a common goal.
Tommy Middaugh of Travel To Go shares that every year, the festival is put on to raise money for the Bakersfield National Cemetery’s Veteran’s Walkway. This special walkway is a place for families to gather and honor the nation’s fallen heroes in a truly unique way.
Bud Light was the title sponsor of the event with many other companies making contributions to ensure the festival’s success including Travel To Go. Tommy Middaugh, Travel To Go’s Vice President, believes that although it may be easier to write a check directly to the charity, by sponsoring these events, it gives each individual an opportunity to become part of the giving process and take pride in part of the donations. In addition, a portion of each ticket sale becomes part of the donation.
The Bud Light Kern River Rock n Blues Fest has grown over the years to be a four-day event that is held in the Frandy Campground on the main road into town and along the Kern River. Each evening, the local businesses of Kernville host the bands that played on the main stages during the day, which transforms this small town into a music lover’s paradise.
Tommy Middaugh of Travel To Go will continue sponsoring these events with the next festival, The Indian Hills Blues Festival, to be held in Tehachapi, California, the last weekend of May in 2015, and, of course, the next Kern River Rock n Blues Fest.
