Smith Debnam Teams Up for a Good Cause
Raleigh, N.C. (PRWEB) August 14, 2014 -- Smith Debnam took to the basketball courts in the 2014 August Madness Wheelchair Basketball Tournament hosted by Bridge II Sports, a local nonprofit that helps improve the quality of life for individuals with physical disabilities. On August 11, attorneys from Smith Debnam, along with employees from other local businesses, teamed up with area sports stars for a day of competition and sportsmanship to benefit local children and adults living with physical disabilities. Smith Debnam advanced to the final four in the tournament, and finished 3rd overall after losing to Capital Broadcasting, 26-28. This marks the third year Smith Debnam has participated in the event.
The 2014 Smith Debnam team included current player and coach of the Triangle Thunder Wheelchair Basketball Team, Kevin H. Bailey, along with Smith Debnam attorneys John Sperati, Christina McAlpin Taylor, Sam Fleder, Alicia Jurney, and Tom Gray. Nolan Turner, a member of the Triangle Jr. Thunder Basketball team, served as coach for a third year in a row.

Sperati. “I’m glad to see so many Triangle area businesses getting involved to make a difference.” Sperati currently serves on the board of directors for Bridge II Sports, and chairs the Bridge II Sports legal committee.
