VISIT Florida Awards Tourism Grant to Oceanfront Tuckaway Shores Resort for a Travel Bloggers Retreat
Indialantic, FL (PRWEB) July 16, 2014 -- Oceanfront Tuckaway Shores Resort, located on a secluded beach in Indialantic, a small beach community between Coca Beach and Melbourne beach on Florida’s Space Coast, announced today that it has been awarded a grant by VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official source for travel planning. The grant will be used to host a Travel and Lifestyle Blogger’s Retreat and FAM visit for up to thirty-five(35) bloggers. They will be introduced to the exceptional and one-of-a kind attractions found on Florida’s Space Coast and will showcase and introduce bloggers to the difference of staying in an independent “authentic” or “classic” Florida style vacation property. In addition, their new e-book showcases Tuckaway’s uniqueness and some of the many reasons that visitors keep returning to the beautiful Space Coast.
“We are so grateful that VISIT FLORIDA and Enterprise Florida selected us from among a large number of grant applicants, during their most competitive grant cycle to date” said Ms. Jacqui McPhillips, manager of Tuckaway Shores.
The event, proposed to be held Nov. 6th thru 8th, 2014 will showcase the unique attractions found in Florida’s Brevard County. The Space Cost is not only the closest beach to Orlando’s myriad of parks and attractions, but enjoys 72 miles of beach front, the longest in Florida; Kennedy Space Center, housing the retired Atlantis Space Shuttle; Brevard Zoo, the only zoo in the country where visitors can kayak thru the zoo; has more nesting Sea Turtles than anywhere else in the western hemisphere, and is the home of the original world famous Ron Jon’s Surf Emporium.
Ms. McPhillips said “We’re eager to introduce the bloggers to the difference of staying in an “authentic” or “classic” style Florida property instead of the traditional high rise flag hotels. Tuckaway Shores is a member of the Florida Superior Small Lodging Assn. (FSSL), a membership of approximately 170 similar style properties that offer exceptional cleanliness, maintenance and more of the “old’ Florida ambiance. We just won the FSSL’s coveted Donald D. Dermody White Glove award for superior housekeeping for the 6th straight year. When it comes to lodging, we want the bloggers to experience the other side of Florida, where it’s more relaxed and staff truly cares about the guest experience. We just designed our first e-book in order to showcase Tuckaway’s uniqueness and some of the many attractions found on our beautiful Space Coast”.
