Ultimate Golf Advantage Release New Interview on 2014 Players Championship

The beauty of a course like Sawgrass is that it never favors one particular player.

Manchester, United Kingdom (PRWEB) May 13, 2014

Golf author, commentator and founder of Ultimate Golf Advantage, Alex Davidson, today releases a new interview on the 2014 Players Championship, looking at Martin Kaymer’s return to the spotlight. In the new interview Mr. Davidson discusses Furyk’s agonizing second runner-up position in as many weeks and highlights the key takeaways from the tournament - the interview is available in full at http://www.UltimateGolfAdvantage.com/interview-ugas-alex-davidson-talks-martin-kaymers-2014-players-win/.

In a new and exclusive interview released today, Alex Davidson, founder of Ultimate Golf Advantage and author of Think to Win: Mastering the Mental Side of Golf, discusses Martin Kaymer’s incredible victory at Sawgrass and comments on the tense battle for the top spot in the final hour of play, with particular reference to Furyk’s strength of mind. Mr. Davidson’s new interview comes following what proved to be an emotional win for Kraymer, his first in over 2 years, fighting to first place and securing the title by only one shot.

Mr. Davidson explained that this new interview offers responses to the reader questions and comments received by the Ultimate Golf Advantage team as the tournament unfolded this weekend. Mr. Davidson commented:

“At UGA, we make it our mission to provide valuable advice on the latest industry developments.” He added: “This interview takes a look at the highs and lows of the performances in this year’s tournament and offers guidance for golfers wanting to channel the winning mentality that Kaymer showed at the 2014 Players Championship.”

Examining Kaymer’s ability to remain focused even after a 90 minute weather delay, Mr. Davidson discusses the importance of remaining “in the zone” when golfing and not letting outside factors stop you from playing a great game. The course at Sawgrass is notoriously challenging, regardless of weather conditions and Mr. Davidson highlights that “the beauty of a course like Sawgrass is that it never favors one particular player.” This seems to have been particularly true for seasoned pro, Bubba Watson.

When asked about Bubba’s surprising low position in championship this year, Alex Davidson explained that it might have been more than the course that got in his way. He said:

“Despite Bubba’s recent victory at Augusta, he began the tournament stating that he found the course incredibly challenging – not the best way to enter a game.” Mr Davidson added:

“Compared with Kaymer and Furyk’s mental confidence, it’s no surprise that Bubba’s game was lacking.”

In his new interview, Alex Davidson offers advice to golfers who are looking to improve their mental game and he highlights that a lot can be learned from the successes and failures of professional golfers, especially in such a close competition as the 2014 Peoples Championship.

Mr. Davidson concluded the interview by offering his tips to avoid the falling at the “infamous 17th hole”, an issue that seems to affect all skill levels. He said:

“While you may think avoiding a dunk is more of a challenge than, say, a bunker, the same methods still apply … Focusing on course management will keep your mental game steady.”
