Quotabelle Reveals Ideas And ‘Hidden Stories’ Of Female Role Models In ‘Useful Gifts’
FAIRFAX, VA. (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- “Useful Gifts: Colorful quotes & true stories to inspire everyday living” by Quotabelle (published by Archway Publishing) is a whimsical collection of illustrated quotes and true stories, designed to showcase notable women and girls from around the world. The title is drawn from an Eleanor Roosevelt quotation that inspired the book’s format. Each story links to a virtue, such as curiosity, grit or fearlessness, all “useful gifts” for life’s journey.
“Useful Gifts” is the second book by Quotabelle, a female-founded, female-powered startup. According to company founder, Pauline Weger, their mission is “reimagine how people discover and share the often hidden stories and ideas of female role models in all fields.” Explains Weger, “We’re adding missing voices back into history and ensuring that remarkable women and girls aren’t overlooked going forward.”
The book is a collaborative work among members of the Quotabelle team: Weger herself; educator Alicia Williamson, PhD; and award-winning artist Rashin Kheiriyeh, a 2017 Sendak Fellow, whose colorful illustrations playfully complement the book’s quotes and stories.
Through books “Useful Gifts” and “Beautifully Said,” along with artisan print goods and a patented mobile platform, Quotabelle promotes gender equality. “Our research confirms the extent to which the voices of women and girls remain underrepresented,” says Williamson. “To fix that imbalance, we need creative solutions that are positive, engaging and relevant to young people.”
