Utrip Unveils White Label Version of its Travel Planning Technology
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 09, 2014 -- Utrip, a free travel planning platform that creates personalized itineraries in minutes, announced today it has launched Utrip PRO, a white label version of its technology. Initial launch customer, the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, unveiled the trip planner on its Visit Dallas website. The new platform will enable visitors to quickly create customized Dallas itineraries, book lodging and share their trips with friends.
As part of the service, Utrip PRO identifies local area experts, who help curate each city’s offerings. For the Visit Dallas launch, experts including Ken Downing, senior vice-president and fashion director for Neiman Marcus; Vicki Meek, nationally recognized artist and curator; and Stephan Pyles, celebrated author and chef have all created featured trips showcasing their favorite spots in Dallas.
“We are thrilled to be the launch customer of Utrip PRO, providing Dallas visitors this innovative technology, enabling them to easily create itineraries based on their interests,” said Phillip J. Jones, president and CEO of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Dallas has so much to offer, and our new trip planner helps visitors experience the city in the way that is most meaningful to them,” continued Jones.
The Utrip platform uses a traveler’s interests, preferences and budget to create complete, personalized itineraries including activities, sites and restaurant recommendations. Once a traveler has planned their trip, the Utrip companion mobile app allows them to view their itineraries, find directions and receive additional recommendations on the go.
“Recent advancements in artificial intelligence have far-reaching implications for travel planning,” said Oren Etzioni, University of Washington artificial intelligence professor and member of Utrip’s advisory group. “With Utrip, all that’s required is for a traveler to simply input their interests and preferences, and our algorithm sorts through millions of options to deliver a complete, personalized itinerary. We also factor in seasonality and logistics, so Utrip won’t send you to a museum that is closed on Tuesdays or to the beach in winter, unlike other travel planners.”
“Travel trends clearly point to the need for more individualized travel planning solutions,” said Gilad Berenstein, chief executive officer and founder of Utrip. “From the very beginning we have had requests for a white label version of our platform. The timing is right to launch Utrip PRO, and from the enthusiastic response we have been receiving, we are confident that the market agrees.”
