The way we look at it, we’re paying people to write about what they love. What can be better than that?

VPS.NET are on a talent scout. The cloud server company has just launched a worldwide search for in-the-know Web users, who can contribute to an online library of tips, tutorials, and how-to articles.
To encourage people to contribute to their online academy, VPS.NET is offering writers a juicy reward. Every article that’s sent in will be checked to make sure it meets a good standard. Successful writers will pocket $50 for each article.
“The way we look at it, we’re paying people to write about what they love,” said Rus Foster, the director of cloud at VPS.NET. “What can be better than that?”
Writers don’t need to have an alphabet’s worth of letters after their name to contribute. VPS.NET are looking for pieces from anyone who knows their NFS from their SMB.
The hosting company is also giving writers free rein to tailor their articles to suit any level of understanding. They want pieces that would fit into the ‘Cloud Hosting 101’ category, as well as features that can be read by masters of the Web.
“We’re giving people the freedom to write about what they want because a lot of people out there are using our services for things we never thought of,” said Foster. “It’s inspiring.”
Suggested topics for articles include pieces on how to secure a server with SSH keys, how to install Git on Ubuntu, how to install PHP, and how to set up Apache. Alternatively, writers can help readers walk before they run by penning a piece on starting a first cloud server.
