VehicleHistory.com is starting to search for a legitimate charitable organization that works to combat drunk driving, the company said yesterday.
“We can deeply about keeping the roads safe, because we love driving,” a VehicleHistory.com spokesman said. “And we believe that drunk driving is one of the greatest dangers on the road. But we also believe that education can help put a stop to drunk driving, so we want to find organizations that can really make a difference.”
VehicleHistory.com wants to make regular donations and find other ways to support the charity or charities they eventually choose, he said.
“The most important thing for us that they make a legitimate effort to help people and don't waste money on overhead or administrative expenses,” he said. “We want to see evidence that their efforts make a legitimate impact on the problem. Drunk driving doesn't have to happen. It can be prevented if we work together.”
VehicleHistory.com said they are entering the charity arena because they want to be a good corporate citizen.
“We want to give back to the community,” he said. “That's very important to us. So, we will look carefully to see who we want to support. We don't simply exist to make a profit; we exist to help make the world a better place.”
VehicleHistory.com customers are encouraged to email the company with suggestions if they know of any effective and legitimate non-profit groups, he said.
