WeLearnedIt iPad App for Project-based Learning and Digital Portfolios Now Available to All Future Ready Schools and Districts
NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 20, 2015 -- At the end of 2014, the Department of Education and the Alliance for Excellent Education officially launched the Future Ready Schools Initiative in an effort to maximize digital learning opportunities and help schools leverage technology in order to help students achieve success. In a speech given by President Obama at the kickoff event, he mentioned the need for digital tools to help students get real-world learning opportunities through projects and the need for students to create digital learning portfolios to showcase their best work.
WeLearnedIt, a social learning platform created by eduClipper Inc., was specifically created for educators, students, and parents to do just that. The app enables teachers to create and administer project-based assessments and provide students with dynamic feedback on their work. Students can capture their projects and upload their work using a host of in-app tools such as photo annotation and video whiteboard, or through integrations with Dropbox and Google Drive. Parents can sign up for a free account to get a window into the work their children are creating as well access to digital progress reports that capture more than just grades – they showcase the actual project work and feedback for the assignment. Accounts for administrators at the school or district level can access learning analytics and administrative capabilities, such as managing new accounts and viewing reports.
"At eduClipper we wholeheartedly believe in what the Future Ready Schools Initiative strives to accomplish," said Adam Bellow, former classroom teacher and founder of WeLearnedIt, "and we want to show support by helping schools to provide high quality digital learning opportunities and products to their students and staff. From today through June 2016, we have made WeLearnedIt free of charge to any and all schools and districts that complete the Future Ready Pledge."
WeLearnedIt, which generally costs $995 per school license, will be available from now through June of 2016 at absolutely no charge to any school whose district has taken the Future Ready Pledge.
"Currently more than 10,000 schools have signed up as part of the pledge to become Future Ready, and we look forward to providing all of them the opportunity to access our learning platform WeLearnedIt," said Bellow.
To get your school or district started with the premium version of WeLearnedIt, download the iPad app from the iTunes App Store. When you create the account please select "We Are a Future Ready District." Now your district will be able to access all the premium features such as progress reports for parents, district analytics, editable rubric library, and access to a growing library of assignments and projects.
"We look forward to working with the growing number of schools that pledge to be Future Ready by providing a tool that will support and deepen student learning experiences," said Bellow.
