WeSpeke, Inc., a global social network for language and cultural exchange, today announced it has closed a $3 million Series B round of funding. The funding will allow WeSpeke to hire more employees, expand its global footprint, and offer new and innovative features to enhance its online language learning and cultural experience.
“In a relatively short amount of time, the WeSpeke community has exploded in growth with users in 160 countries who speak 103 native languages and are interested in 101 target languages,” said Michael Elchik, President and CEO of WeSpeke. “Our users include adults learning a language for professional or personal goals as well as teachers and students at more than 1,500 schools around the world. We are inspired to be facilitating global conversation. At any given moment, WeSpeke is the digital bridge between a Spanish student in the United States who is learning from a partner in El Salvador, a user in India talking with someone in Brazil, or a user from Spain connecting with someone in Germany. We are excited to be an emerging leader in the field of language learning to empower and connect the next generation of global citizens,” said Michael Elchik, President and CEO of WeSpeke.
WeSpeke is a free, safe, global digital learning platform designed for practicing languages, sharing cultures, and making international connections.
